Check the kite spot before - speak with local people.
Choose safe launching and landing zone.
Take care of big shore break, strong current,
dangerous animals, rips and tides.
Avoid offshore wind, if there are no rescue boats.
Be careful with onshore wind (the danger is that you finish on the beach).
Take care with gusty wind. By gusty wind, don´t put the kite at 12 o´clock, it can lift u up.
Launch your kite direction see. The most accident happen by gusty wind.
How to know in the beginning which size of the kite to take ?
Look at other kiters in the water with similar weigt like you.
If they are moving the kite a lot up and down,
you need a bigger size.
With experience you gonna know wich size you need by looking the elements; water, chopy, trees, flags, sand flying and feeling.
